The Grand Tour is DEAD – Long Live The Grand Tour

The Grand Tour – Messrs Clarkson, Hammond and May’s Top Gear take for Amazon – ends with series three, but will be back with a series of ‘Specials’ for series four.

There has been much talk about whether Amazon will continue with Clarkson, Hammond and May and their The Grand Tour Top Gear reboot beyond series three, which airs in January 2019. But now we know.

At filming for the final episode of series three, Clarkson told the audience in their tent in the Cotswolds that this was the end of the road, and that there will be no more Grand Tour with a ‘studio’ setting. But there will be more Grand Tour specials.

What is planned is a series of, probably, four ‘Road Trip’ episodes a year, rather like the adventures the trio did at Top Gear, with the entire episode shot on the road and with a big budget. Apparently, a very big budget.

It also seems that the trio will be embarking on new projects with Amazon too, with Clarkson, Hammond and May all lined up to do programmes on subjects they want to do.

They’ve got some ambitious new ideas that Prime members are going to love. We’re excited to be bring more Clarkson, Hammond and May to Prime Video for years to come.

Expect to the the first special from The Grand Tour in the second half of 2019.
