Top Gear tonight – Series 22, Episode 4 – has the BMW i8 and BMW M4, the new Mercedes-AMG GT, Land Rover Defender up a damn and Will Smith in the reasonably priced car.

James May takes the new Mercedes-AMG GT on the Top Gear Track
Last week’s Top Gear was basically the boys messing around with ambulances, but this week’s episode is one for the real petrolheads.
So Jeremy blats round the Top Gear track in the new M4 before taking the i8 on a trip up the A1 to Whitby and concludes which of the two BMW’s he would choose to drive home, a thought process fuelled by a portion of Whitby fish and chips.
James, meanwhile, is the one on the track this week as he takes the new Mercedes-AMG GT out for blat round Dunsfold to see if Mercedes’ cut-price replacement for the SLS is as good in the real world (well, the Top Gear world) as it looks on paper.
At the other end of the performance spectrum from James in the AMG GT, Richard takes the iconic Land Rover Defender out to play, attempting to winch himself up an almost perpendicular damn face as a tribute to 66 years of Defender production, which comes to an end this year.
Finally, there are two stars in a reasonably priced car this week as Will Smith and Margot Robbie use Top Gear as a pit stop on the world promo for their new heist movie – Focus.
Top Gear – episode 4 of series 22 – is on BBC2 tonight (February 15 2015) at 8pm (UK time).

Dave Price says
Much better episode than last week’s ambulance drivel. But it was an M3 Jeremy played with not an M4.
Cars UK says
You’re right, but the bumph the Beeb sent said it would be an M4. Oh, well!
