Toyota C-HR now with 182bhp 2.0 litre Toyota Hybrid
Toyota has updated the C-HR range with the addition of the new 2.0 litre hybrid powertrain as well as equipment ans suspension upgrades.
If you want a funky little urban runaround, you tend to think first of the Nissan Juke, a car which defined the sector when it arrived. But the Toyota C-HR is arguably as funky, manages to be a chunk less fugly and is more capacious. And we rather like it.Now, Toyota has decided to upgrade the C-HR for 2019 to make it even more appealing, the headline of which is the arrival of a second hybrid powertrain option.
The new hybrid powertrain option is Toyota’s latest 2.0 litre lump – already seen in the new Corolla, and it delivers a chunk more punch than the current 1.8 litre, and without too much penalty in terms of economy and emissions.
As well as adding the more powerful hybrid option, Toyota has given the 2.0 litre hybrid versions a new suspension design to improve comfort without wrecking handling, and all C-HRs have a new noise reduction package.
Other titivations include premium LED headlights with running lights, new combi lights at the back, gloss black spoiler and colour-coded front splitter.
Inside there’s a new infotainment which delivers the latest Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as smartphone integration and over-the-air mapping updates.
Prices for the updated C-HR start at £25,625 with a choice of Design, Excel and Dynamic trim – all available with both hybrid powertrain options – with a range topping C-HR ‘Orange Edition’ on offer too.
