Volkswagen Touareg SUV range DOUBLES in size in the UK

Volkswagen is doubling the size of the Touareg SUV range in the UK, with new SE, SEL Tech and Black Edition models adding to the current range.

It’s 18 months since the current Volkswagen Touareg SUV went on sale after a major overhaul, since when VW has been busy expending the Touareg offerings to cover all the bases.

That’s meant the addition of a new, lower power diesel engine for the Touareg, a big V8 TDI option, a V6 petrol Touareg and, to get buyers taking notice, the chance to play with a Touareg for 48 hours to make sure it floats your boat.

You might have thought that was enough to deliver a wide range of options for potential buyers to find a Touareg to suit, but it seems VW don’t think so.  So they’re effectively doubling the Touareg range with the arrival of new trim levels – SE, SEL Tech and Black Edition.

The new entry-level Touareg SE starts at £45,445 and comes with 19″ alloys, 9.2″ touchscreen, parking sensors and adaptive cruise, and can be had with the V6 TDI engines.

The SEL Tech Touareg adds to the regular SEL spec with 15″ control panel and 12.3″ digital cockpit, electric tailgate, heat insulating glass and 19″ Tirano alloys and can be had with the V6 diesels and V6 petrol.

At the top of the Touareg tree now sits the Black Edition which comes with an enhanced R-Line Tech trim including black 21″ alloys, black trim, Panoramic roof, Light Matrix headlights, automatic self-levelling suspension, Easy Open tailgate and Park Assist.
