Volvo XC40 now with Momentum, R-Design and Inscription PRO options
The new Volvo Xc40 can now be had in the UK with the ‘Pro’ versions of Momentum, R-Design and Inscription trims, as well as new engines and transmission options.
It’s getting on for a year since the new Volvo XC40 arrived in the UK, and in that time it’s managed to create quite a stir.
With distinctive looks and premium cabin, the XC40 has cracking residuals and a range of engine, trim and power options to suit a diverse range of buyers, and just about universal praise from press and public alike. No wonder it grabbed the European Car of the Year gong.
Now the XC40 range gets even more options, with the arrival of the T3 3-pot petrol engine for the XC40 in the UK, as well as T4 and D3 options.
The new three-cylinder T3 comes only with a manual gearbox at the moment (the auto option will arrive at some point) and has a decent 154bhp and 195lb/ft of torque to play with, enough to do a bit of towing, get to 62mph in 9.4 seconds and return an official 45.6mpg.
The new T4 engine get 187bhp and comes with 4WD and auto ‘box, and the D3 gets 148bhp and the option of FWD or 4WD, manual or auto.
What is also now available for the XC40 in the UK is the ‘Pro’ versions of the regular Momentum, R-Design and Inscription trims, with each adding appealing options to the regular spec.
Momentum Pro (an extra £1,550 over Momentum) adds electric memory driver’s seat, power door mirrors, LED headlights and heated front seats, R-Design Pro (an extra £1,990) adds 20″ alloys, LED headlights, electric driver’s seat with memory for seat and mirrors and heated fronts seats, and Inscription Pro (an extra £1,550) adds 19″ alloys, LED headlights, Heated front seats and electric front passenger seat.
With the arrival of the XC40 T3, the UK XC40 range now starts at £27,610 rising to £37,620 for the T5 Inscription Pro. Although you will probably end up spending more on appealing extras like Intellisafe Pro and Xenium.
