New 2018 Mercedes A-Class TEASE continues with winter testing video
The 2018 Mercedes A-Class will be revealed early in the New Year, and Mercedes continue the tease with a video showing the new A-Class winter testing.
Mercedes moved the A-Class on from the first two generations of shopping cars in to a properly competitive premium hatchback in the current generation. And now it’s time for Mercedes’ premium hatchback – and its derivatives – to take the next step forward, with a new Mercedes A-Class due to get its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
We’ve saw the Concept A Saloon almost a year ago as a clue to where the new A-Class is going, and Mercedes has already revealed the new A-Class’s interior in full.
But to keep interest alive, Mercedes has now rolled out a video showing the new A-Class Winter testing ahead of its debut.
To make sure the new A Class can deal with harsh winter conditions, the A-Class development team has decamped to snowy, frozen Sweden to put the car through its paces.
That includes driving through a ‘Climate Tunnel’ at 30mph in temperatures as low as -28C, with new engines being put through the mill in the process.
The new engines will include the 1.3 litre starting to appear in Renaults with power outputs of between 115bhp and 160bhp, promising improved economy and performance.
Expect the 2018 Mercedes A-Class to be revealed ahead of its Geneva debit, and for a Mercedes A-Class saloon to follow soon after.
