The new Volvo V90 will cost from £34,555 in the UK for the V90 Momentum D4 FWD, rising to £44,555 for the V90 Inscription D5 AWD.
Last month saw the arrival of the new Volvo V90 Estate, a car that promises much and is tipped to be the best-selling Estate in it sector even before it launches. And now we know how much the new Volvo V90 will cost, and its specification.Although we’re sure Volvo will be offering at least the V90 T8 Twin engine Hybrid – with its 400bhp plug-in powertrain – the only UK offerings confirmed initially are the D4 and D5 diesel V90s, which will be available in Momentum or Inscription trim, with front wheel-drive and four-wheel drive options.
Just like the XC90, even the Momentum trim level offers a lot of spec for the base price, with a plethora of safety systems like City Safety with pedestrian, cyclist and large animal detection, front collision warning, auto brake,m driver alert and lane keeping.
Luxury items include leather trim, Sensus Navigation, power tailgate, 8″ TFT Drivers Information and 9″ touchscreen, 17″ alloys (18″ on D5 AWD), rear park assist, LED headlights with active high beam and running lights.
The V90 Inscription adds in stuff like Nappa Leather, power front seats, 12.3″ TFT drivers information display, Walnut inlays, theatre lighting, handsfree tailgate and 18″ ten-spoke alloys.
All the V90 models come with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and the starting point for the V90 Momentum D4 FWD is £34,555, with the V90 Momentum D5 – with four wheel-drive – costing from £41,555.
The V90 Inscription models cost from £37,555 for the D4 FWD, and the v90 Inscription D5 AWD costs from £44,555.
Option packs for the V90 will be quite familiar to XC90 owners, with stuff like the £2,000 Xenium Pack (parking camera with 360 view, Park Assist Pilot, Automatic Parallel & 90′ parking and panoramic roof) and the £1,475 Winter Plus with heads up (heated steering wheel, headlamp cleaners, heated washers and heads-up) an easy, and more cost effective, way to up the spec.
Individual options include electronic rear air suspension (£950), Park Assist Camera (£400), Panoramic Roof (£1,295), Massage Seats (£650) and Sensus Connect with Premium Bowers and Wilkins Sound (£3,000).
The pricing for the V90 is quite interesting, with the V90 D4 Momentum undercutting the BMW 520d Luxury Touring by £3,000, and with better looks, and arguably a better spec, the V90 should be in strong demand,
