Ford has announced it will reveal a new Vignale model and have some Ford Performance news. The S-Max Vignale and Fiesta ST Plus, perhaps?
Ford has announce it will be showing an expanded Vignale range at the Geneva Motor Show next week, and have news on a new Ford Performance model. But what’s likely to be on offer? As far as the expansion of Vignale – Ford’s 21st century take on the 1970s Ghia badging for ‘luxury’ Fords – the money should be on an S-Max Vignale, mainly because we’ve already seen a concept two years ago.
Just like the Mondeo Vignale, the S-Max Vignale came bestowed with plenty of goodies, including 21″ alloys and embossed and quilted leather, to mark it out from lesser models and justify a price tag that will be a chunk higher than current Titanium Sport S-Max.
On the ‘Performance News’ front, the most likely candidate seems to be a more powerful take on the Fiesta ST.
Ford continue to declare that there won’t be a Fiesta RS, but the current rumour is that they are instead planning to deliver a more powerful Fiesta ST ‘Plus’, with a bit of re-mapping to up its output, a more aggressive body kit and chassis tweaks.
Whatever For reveals on the Vignale and Performance front next week will sit alongside the new Ford Kuga, which will be on show in a much bigger venue after its recent initial reveal in Barcelona.
