New Range Rover Evoque REVEAL – watch it LIVE

The new Range Rover Evoque is due to be revealed live at 7:45pm today, and you can watch it live on Cars UK ahead of an LA debut.

Last week Land Rover was busy running round London erecting wireframe sculptures of the new Range Rover Evoque to tease its imminent arrival. That arrival is today, and you can watch it live on Cars UK at 7:45pm.

It’s eight years since the current Range Rover Evoque arrived, and although it’s had a few titivations along the way it’s still very much the ‘concept made real’ car its started as. And although this is billed as the ‘New’ Evoque, it’s not a radical change.

Under the skin it’s expected the new Evoque will use a modified version of the current car’s quite ancient D8 platform, although it’s likely to have been stretched a bit, and with wider track, to address the rather cramped interior.

But even though the dimensions will increase, the new Evoque will still look like an Evoque, although the design cues from the Velar will probably make it look a bit like a bit of a mini Velar too.

Inside will be Velar-like too, with the dual-screen set-up now making its way from the Velar to the rest of the Range Rover range, as well as a bit more technology and a bit more room.

Under the bonnet will be the usual JLR Ingenium engine options, although a 48V mild hybrid is expected, if not at launch then soon after. As for anything more – a plug-in hybrid Evoque, for example – we’re still not sure.
