The new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera – Aston’s replacement for the Vanquish S – has been leaked ahead of an official reveal expected this evening.
Aston Martin announced that that the DBS Superleggera was the badge they were attaching to the replacement for the Vanquish S back in April, since when we’ve seen the new DBS on video at the Nurburgring as Aston prepare their most powerful car for production.Aston are planning to reveal the DBS Superleggera this evening, but as an entire gallery of new DBS photos (below) and information leaked on to the interwebs this morning, they could do it sooner.
Unsurprisingly, the DBS Superleggera looks like a DB11 after a course of steroids, with its huge grille, more obvious aerodynamic aids and titivated back end.
The alloys are 21″ jobs, there’s 705bhp from the 5.2 litre turbo V12, a 5mm drop in ride height and a trimming of weight too compared to the DB11 (72kg). It’s enough to get the DBS to 62mph in a not too shoddy 3.4 seconds.
It’s a good looking Aston Martin – just as the DB11 is – but it does seem to have a titivated version of the DB11’s cabin, albeit with more sculptured leather. But the DB11’s cabin is, for us, it’s weak spot, and the DBS doesn’t seem to have improved it much.
We’ll have full details later today when Aston Martin officially reveals the DBS Superleggera.
