2019 Audi TT RS facelift
The Audi TT RS Coupe and Roadster come in for a small nip and tuck for 2019 as Audi freshen the TT to keep it in the game against newer rivals.
It’s more than 20 years since the Audi TT arrived as a bit of a hairdressers special, but over the years it has morphed in to a properly good little sports car. But it’s time could be limited.Falling sales, more competition and Audi’s push in to SUVs and electric cars has seen rumours that Audi are planning to bin the TT. But not just yet.
Having given the regular TT models a bit of a makeover last year, Audi has now turned its attention to the range-topping RS Coupe and Roadster, delivering the smallest of makeovers to tide it over until its time is done.
Still sporting Audi’s delicious 5-pot 2.5 litre engine (whose time must be almost up) with a class-leading 395bhp and 354lb/ft of torque – good for 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of (up to) 174mph – with power going to all four wheels through as even-speed ‘box, Audi has concentrated their update efforts elsewhere.
But the efforts are minimal, and amount to not much more than a tweaked front bumper and bigger back wing, some black detailing, improved infotainment and some new colours for both the inside and outside.
The ‘new’ Audi TT RS Coupe and Roadster go on sale in the UK in April.
