The BMW M4 Competition Sport has been revealed as a halfway house between the M4 and M4 GTS, but just 60 being built for BMW Spain.
The BMW M4 GTS arrived last year as the ultimate take on the M3, complete with 493bhp, extreme body kit, no back seats and a whopping price tag of £121,770.That left a yawning gap between the regular M3 and the limited run GTS, which BMW Spain has decided to fill with an ‘almost’ GTS – the new BMW M4 Competition Sport – offering a lot of what the GTS does, but with an added dash of practicality.
Just like the GTS, the CS gets more power than the regular M4 – 450bhp (but not as much as the GTS’s 493bhp) -which is sent to the back wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
You also get the same 20″ alloys as the GTS (but painted silver) and the same carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive M Chassis and diff, and some of the M Performance body add-ons with carbon fibre coating. You also get to keep the M3’s back seats.
Colour options are Brilliant White, San Marino Blue and Jerez Black, with each colour choice yielding a different interior, but all with carbon fibre trim.
The BMW M4 CS costs a slightly more reasonable £105,000 (€132,900), and just 60 cars will be built.
Will BMW bring the M4 CS to the UK? It seems unlikely.
