Clio RenaultSport 200 – UK prices and detail

Renault has delivered us pricing and information on the two new Clio RenaultSport models this afternoon – the Clio RenaultSport 200 Cup and the Clio RenaultSport 200.

The first news is not startling. The new models do sport more power than the old – a whole 3bhp. But Renault say that the performance is improved thanks top better aerodynamics, weight reduction and some technology borrowed from F1, including a rear diffuser.

Renault have made the car a little wider than its predecessor, which has meant a wider track and bigger wheel arches which, with a news set of alloy wheels, gives the car a much more aggressive stance.

The revisions to the suspension actually give the standard Clio a 15% softer ride, whilst the Cup version becomes 15% stiffer. Power comes from a normally aspirated 2.0 litre 16v F4T RS lump, which offers 200bhp, 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds and 141mph. Fuel consumption improves slightly to 34.1mpg and emissions come out at 195g/km.

UK orders for the Clio RenaultSport open on 15th May, with the first customer cars expected to be delivered by the end of June.
