Ferrari has had the World Première launch of the new 458 Italia at a private gathering this week in Maranello.
The Ferrari 458 Italia is due to be seen for the first time in public at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week. But that only applies to mere mortals. If you’re rich enough, or famous enough or preferably both, the normal rules don’t apply. Car makers have private launches – pre-public reveal – all the time (Rolls Royce did one for the Ghost in July and Bugatti are doing one next week for the Bordeaux / Royale Concept). But they don’t usually publicise them. But Ferrari has with the 458 Italia.Wednesday evening saw gala presentation of the 458 Italia to an invited crowd, and Ferrari had every Ferrari-associated face on display, from Michael Schumacher to Piero Ferrari. It’s the usual glad-handing event, but we do get a few glimpses of the 458 in motion, and it’s a curtain raiser for the proper reveal next week at Frankfurt.
I’ll take the nice black one near the end of the video.
