It’s being reported that the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept – seen at the Paris Motor Show this year – is to go in to limited production.
It has to be said; the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento was not the new Lamborghini we were expecting at the Paris Motor Show in September. We were expecting the Lamborghini Jota, but it now looks as if we may have to wait until Geneva in the Spring to see the Murcielago’s replacement. And it may even be called the Lamborghini LP700-4 when it does turn up.
Still, the Sesto Elemento was an impressive bit of kit, weighing not much more than an origami ‘plane and powered by the same V10 as you’ll find in the LP570-4 Superleggera. We figured it was just a concept; a very convincing prover for Lamborghini’s desire to equate less weight with more performance and lower emissions.
But it seems the Sesto Elemento is a bit more than just a concept. French website Auto Moto are reporting sources as saying that the Sesto Elemento has been signed off for a limited run. In fact, a very limited run. According to Auto Moto Lamborghini is considering a maximum of ten Sesto Elementos at up to €2.5 million each.
Which you would think would be enough to turn buyers off, even thought the Sesto Elemnto weighs in at less than a ton and can manage 60mph in under 2.5 seconds, but it would seem not. It’s reported that Lamborghini could already have five firm orders for the Sesto Elemento in the bag.
Over to you Lamborghini. Fact or fiction?
