We have video of a complete walkthrough of the interior of the new Lexus LF-A and an explanation of how many of the systems function.

The Lexus LF-A – the new Lexus Supercar – has had a fair bit of coverage of late here on Cars UK. Prior to the reveal of the LF-A we had Dutch car journo Thomas Bangma telling us that the LF-A was the best driving car ever (we’re sure it’s wonderful – but the best ever?). We then had the reveal of the LF-A at the Tokyo Motor Show in October, when it was revealed that the LF-A will cost upwards of £300k and just 500 will be built.

Now whether Lexus have stretched things too far for the LF-A with such a steep price tag remains to be seen. There is no doubt that the LF-A is a stunning car with exceptional performance, but will buyers be prepared to pay over £300k for a Lexus? Time will tell, but as we reported the other day buyers in the US won’t even be able to buy the LF-A outright even if they thinks it’s a good buy, but will have to enter in to a lease deal with Lexus where Lexus retain title to their LF-A for two years.

All a bit odd, especially as we live in a global economy where it will probably be relatively easy for US LF-A buyers to import a car from outside the US if they want title straight away.

But these issues sidetrack us somewhat from what is an astonishing car. It’s 5.0 litre V10 (which will probably also see the light of day in the new Lotus Esprit) offers exceptional performance with 553bhp and a 0-60mph of around 3.5 seconds. But we’ve not seen much detail on the gizmos and gadgets the LF-A sports, nor on the interior.

So this video of the LF-A at the SEMA show in the States recently puts that right. We get a complete walkthrough of all the goodies on offer and what we can likely see as pointers to future developments in Lexus’ regular, mainstream cars.

It’s a shame there’s a sense of ‘Is it worth it’ over the LF-A. There is no doubt it’s a stunning creation , and if it wore a different badge it would no doubt be universally praised. But the lease-only announcement is a big shot in the foot by Lexus.
