Lotus Evora & Evora S Sports Racer revealed

Lotus has revealed a special edition of the Evora – the Evora Sports Racer – with extra kit and special colours. Available as Evora or Evora S.

Lotus is not having the easiest of times of late (has Lotus ever had any easy time?) with most of the news from Hethel being about ex-CEO Dany Bahar or the will they/won’t they be sold on or closed down by new owners DRB-HiCom.

So it’s good to see that Lotus can still do what it should be doing and produce cars. Admittedly, the newest car from Norfolk is a limited edition of an existing car, but at least it’s something positive.

The Lotus Evora Sports Racer – which can also be had as the supercharged Evora S Sports Racer – gets a few styling tweaks, a set of special colours – Aspen White, Ardent Red, Nightfall Blue and Carbon Grey – gloss black for the front splitter, side sills, mirrors and rear diffuser, and black wheels covering red or black callipers.

Inside the Evora Sports Racer gets a new set of seats with contrast piping and stitching in black or red leather with a gunmetal finish for the dashboard.

Lotus are also throwing in the Tech Pack for the Evora which gives Cruise, parking sensors and a reversing camera, and the Sports Pack too which gives you a sports mode designed to offer sharper throttle responses, a higher rev limit, a sportier setting for the stability control and cross-drilled brake discs.

None of this is exactly cheap, with the Lotus Evora Sports Racer costing £57,900 and the supercharged Evora S Sports Racer £65,900, although Lotus say you are saving up to £7k by buying the Sports Racer instead of speccing up a standard Evora in the same way.
