Renault teased the Megane Renaultsport 275 Trophy on social media last month, but now it’s arrived – and it’s going to have a busy summer.
With that in mind, Renault has given the 2.0 litre Turbo in the Megane Renaultsport 275 Trophy a bit of a tweak to yield 271bhp hoping that will be enough to beat the current 7:58.4s record.
Under the Megane 275 sits a stiffer Cup chassis with a limited slip diff and a lightweight titanium exhaust from Akrapovic and, so any record attempt will stand, Renault are also offering the adjustable Ohlins dampers and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres that will be used at the Nurburgring as options.
Cosmetically, the 275 Trophy gets ‘Trophy’ on the front silver blade with a similar theme at the back and a chequered flag on the bottom of the doors.
Inside there are Recaro seats in leather and Alcantara, lots of red stitching, an alloy gearknob, ‘RS’ on the headrests and numbered sill guards.
Full specs haven’t yet been revealed, and nor have prices, but that should change by the time the Megane Renaultsport 275 Trophy hits the Nurburgring and Goodwood next month, and first customer cars are expected in October 2014.
