Toyota GT86 Orange Edition is Toyota’s first GT86 Club Series Limited Edition
The Toyota GT86 Orange Edition arrives as the first GT86 Club Series car, a new badge for limited edition GT86 models. Price from £28,800.
The Toyota GT86, Toyota’s affordable sports car, has been with us for a while (actually, it’s more than five years), and got a facelift last year with some relatively mild cosmetic and equipment tweaks – but no more power. Now, Toyota launches the GT86 Club Series, a new name for limited edition versions of the GT86 said to “capture all the qualities of performance, style and handling prowess” inherent in the GT86.
This first Club Series car – the Toyota GT86 Orange Edition – comes with a Solar Orange paint job (you won’t be able to ignore it on the road) which ‘pops’ thanks to a special triple-coat process, with a metallic black finish on the rear spoiler tips and door mirrors as well as a set of black 17″ alloys.
Inside there’s leather and Alcantara seats with orange stitching, black suede for the dash and door panels, Toyota Touch 2 multimedia with DAB and bluetooth, heated seats and ali pedals, with a limited slip diff and beefier brakes making sure it stops and goes.
Toyota hasn’t said how many GT86 Orange Edition models are being produced, but as it seems to be the first of a line of GT86 Club Series cars it probably won’t be around for too long.
So if you fancy a ‘Tangoed’ GT86 give your local Toyota dealer a call. But be prepared to put down £28,800 for your new toy (around £2k up on the base GT86) and an extra £1,470 if you want a six-speed auto (you don’t).
