The Volvo V90 estate has been revealed a bit earlier than Volvo planned thanks to a Dutch website publishing official images a week early.
The Volvo V90 is supposed to get its official reveal on 18 February, and Volvo has been busy trumpeting its arrival with a potted history of its estate cars, probably because we already know what the V90 will look like thanks to a single photo of an undisguised V90, so what’s the point of teasing the usual shadowy image? But Volvo’s best laid plans have gone awry after Dutch site Autoweek published the first official photos of the V90 online today, rather taking some of the wind out of Volvo’s sails.
But Volvo shouldn’t be too concerned; this way they get two bites of the reveal cherry, and the V90 looks so good that car lovers are going to be just as happy to lap up the extra details and photos when Volvo does do the official reveal.
What we have in the Volvo V90 is the front end of the new S90 with a back end influenced by the Volvo Concept estate, and a fine looking wagon it is.
Inside looks to be exactly the same as the S90, which is about as good as it gets this side of bespoke for car interiors, with a real human touch and lots of blonde Scandinavian materials.
Just like the S90, the V90 will be offered with Volvo’s range of 2.0 litre Drive-Engines, topping out with the Hybrid T8 Twin engine with around 400bhp – and BIK rates to make your accountant smile.
It’s possible Volvo will bring forward the official reveal of the V90 now it’s escaped in to the wild, but if not you do have this selection of V90 photos to convince you it really is time to consider buying a Volvo estate.
