Land Rover want you to know that if you’ve woken up to snow – and you want a 4×4 now – the Freelander 2 Black & White is a stock car.
The height of the summer is the best time to grab an SUV and the depths of a snowy winter the best time to grab a soft top. But immediate needs and desires tend to overrule the rational choice, and we all think about buying a convertible when the weather’s glorious and a 4×4 when we wake up to snow. Like today.
In a nicely opportunistic press release, Land Rover want you to know that if you’ve woke up to snow this morning, and you just must have a new SUV straight away, they can help.
Most dealers don’t carry much in the way of stock of the regular model range – they want buyers to come in and spec up their very own car – but limited edition models are different; they are a stock model.
And with much of the country slip sliding around in snow today, Land Rover just happen to have a limited edition Freelander 2 – the 2013 Freelander Black & White – in stock and ready to rumble at most of their dealers.
The Freelander 2 Black & White is up for grabs from £23,495 if you want the TD4 (not much chance of a discount in this weather) and really, even if Land Rover are making the most of the weather to pitch the Freelander, it’s a perfect car for the snow.
Easy to drive – just stick the Terrain Response in ‘Snow’ and you’re good to go – and not too silly a price, the Freelander 2 will run rings round just about anything else on the road in this weather. Which is why Land Rover’s website and dealerships have had a surge of interest since the cold snap arrived, and that will probably go in to overdrive today.
