A Pagani Zonda R is up for grabs

The Pagani Zonda R is a rare, track-only beast. But one owner has decided to swap in his Zonda R for a Zonda Cinque.

As we reported recently, Pagani has finally got round to officially launching the Pagani Zonda R, the ultimate performance Zonda (not that there’s anything wrong with the performance on the Zonda S or Zonda F or Zonda Cinque or…), which is a pure, track-only version of Pagani’s stunning supercar.

As you would expect, there are only going to be a handful of Zonda Rs made and frankly, unless you have your own track (or own your own country), you’re not going to be able to use it to blat down to the pub on a Sunday lunchtime.

But that small detail won’t stop the well-heeled petrol-head from digging deep to buy one. And what’s the price? Well, it’s a slightly wealth-denting €1.4 million + tax. But they’re all sold.

Well, they may be all sold but we know one chap who has decided that the logistics of looking after a track-only car, and getting his regular octane-filled jollies, is too much grief. So he’s decided – some would say wisely – to forego the pleasures of the ultimate Zonda and opt instead for its road-going sibling, the Zonda Cinque.

Which leaves him holding one very desirable Zonda R order that is currently surplus to requirements. Nice position to be in. But it does mean that one lucky (and wealthy) person out there who was busy working out how to live without the Zonda R in his (or her) life now has an option to buy.

We promised we wouldn’t spill the beans on who has the car, but if you’re desperate to buy, drop us a line and we’ll pass on your details. But we’ll make it a condition that Cars UK can come and play when you take delivery of the car!
