Aston Martin DB10 & Jaguar C-X75 race round Rome’s streets in James Bond Spectre
With filming in full swing for the latest James Bond, SPECTRE, we get video footage of the Aston Martin DB10 and Jaguar C-X75 racing around Rome’s streets.
James Bond car chases are often not the most believable you’ll see on film, but they have got a lot better in recent outings. And now, with SPECTRE underway as the latest James Bond outing, we can look forward to what should be an epic street chase between Jaguar and Aston Martin.
The Aston Martin in question is the Aston Martin DB10, a creation of AML just for the Bond film, but one that doubtless previews some of AML’s future design cues.
The Jaguar in question, as we revealed in December, is a version of the Jaguar’s C-X75 Concept, the car that was supposed to turn in Jaguar’s answer to the Porsche 918 Spyder, but never did.
As far as we can work out, the Jaguar has a high output version of the 5.0 litre supercharged engine driving it rather than steam turbines (or whatever fanciful ideas Jaguar originally had) and the DB10 the Vanquish tune of its V12. They should be pretty evenly matched.
Of course, this is a Bond film, so evenly matched is an irrelevance; there may be moments that Bond appears to be the loser, but in the end it’s going to be the Aston that comes out on top. And even if it doesn’t, Bond will.
There’s more background than action in the clip Eon Productions has released, but apart from the action sequences there’s some close-ups of the cars themselves worth the look.
