Hyundai launches ‘Click to Fly’ drone delivery – a new Hyundai delivered in 2 hours (video)

In a bold move, the Hyundai Click to Buy online car purchase system gets extended with the arrival of Click to Fly 2 hour drone delivery.

Hyundai has been busy finding new ways to let customers buy cars in the last year or so, first with Rockar stores where you could browse new Hyundais whilst wandering round Bluewater or Westfield, and more recently with Hyundai’s Click to Buy website.

With the Click to Buy website you can click your car of choice, pick your options and sort out your finance, all whilst tucking in to an Indian on a Friday night with a glass of good red. 

But now, thanks to Hyundai’s new ‘Hy-Drones’ you can – if you’re happy to take a stock car – make your choices, pay your money and have your new Hyundai delivered using Click to Fly before you’ve poured the last glass of red from the bottle.

The new Hy-Drones use Hyundai’s Fuel Cell technology and aviation software developed for Mars exploration to ensure accurate deliveries, and the new drones can manage up to 2000kg (enough for a Santa Fe) and travel at up to 190knots.

With deliveries coming from Hyundai’s import centre in Tilbury (just 10 minutes flying time from Cars UK Towers), their top speed means they have a two hour range of around 400 miles – just about enough for deliveries across the whole UK (well, as far north as Aberdeen, anyway).
