Land Rover Classic are selling 25 factory restored Series I Land Rovers to celebrate the end of Defender production to be sold at Techno-Classic in Germany.
The last year has seen almost endless celebration of the Land Rover Series I, II and II – as well as the Defender – as production of the 4WD icon ended after a run stretching back to 1948.
Now, Land Rover Classic is adding to the list of Defender celebrations by offering for sale 25 factory restored Land Rover Series I cars – created in perfect 1948 specification – and going on sale at the Techno Classic Show in Germany.
Land Rover Classic (Land Rover Heritage as was) has hand-picked 25 Series I chassis from around the world, and each will undergo a meticulous restoration to original 1948 specifications using Land Rover Classic Parts service to source all that’s needed, and offered in a choice of five period finishes – Light Green, Bronze Green, RAF Blue, Dove Grey and Poppy Red.
Tim Hannig, Director at JLR Classics, said:
The launch of the Reborn initiative represents a fantastic opportunity for customers to own a valuable and collectable automotive icon. Reborn showcases Land Rover Classic’s expertise in restoring and maintaining our loyal customers’ prized Land Rovers.
It also demonstrates the business’ commitment to supporting customers with original and genuine parts for Land Rover models that have been out for production for longer than 10 years.
Customers for the reborn Land Rovers will be able to choose the chassis they want and follow the restoration process of their ‘new’ Series I at Land Rover’s new Classic workshop in Solihull.
Land Rover are being coy about costs, but we wouldn’t expect there to be much change from £50k, and nor would we be surprised if it’s a chunk more.
