Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid4 Price and Spec
The Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid4, Vauxhall’s first plug-in hybrid offering, is offered in a choice of trim levels and prices starting at £35,590.
Back in May, Vauxhall took the wraps of the Grandland X Hybrid4, their first plug-in Hybrid, and now it’s on sale in the UK with prices starting from £35,590, and first customer cars expected in January 2020.Whichever of the four trim levels you choose, the powertrain is the same, and it’s the same PSA plug-in hybrid gubbins you’ll eventually finds in the Peugeot 508, Peugeot 3008 and the DS7 Crossback plug-ins.
It uses a 197bhp Puretech petrol engine mated to a pair of electric motors good for 107bhp putting power to all four wheels through an electrified eight-speed auto ‘box, with an official EV range of 30 miles and daft official economy of 176.5mpg. It’ll hit 62mph in 7.0 seconds.
There are also four driving modes on offer – electric, hybrid, AWD and Sport – all doing pretty much what it says on the tin.
Despite the Hobson’s choice of powertrains, the Grandland X Hybrid4 comes in a choice of four trim levels, with the Business Edition Nav Premium kicking things off at £35,590, followed by the SRi Nav at £40,300, the Elite Nav at £42,200 and the Ultimate Nav starting at £45,450.
Let’s hope Vauxhall has more success with the PSA-derived plug-in hybrid than it did with its previous big hybrid hope, the Vauxhall Ampera, a range-extender hybrid which deserved a better fate than befell it.
